Catering for informal parties and gatherings
Buffets can be a relaxed option for lunches and dinners and can form a stunning display and focal point to the room, for your guests to graze upon at their leisure.
As fewer waiting staff tend to be needed, catered buffets can also be a useful way to reduce costs without compromising on the quality of the food.
Cuisine styles for buffet catering
We can create buffet menus based on many styles of cuisine. Middle Eastern buffet dishes are particularly popular at the moment. This might be a mixture of Ottolenghi-style salads, dips such as freshly made hummus and baba ganoush with delicious flatbreads and seeded crispbreads, and hot dishes such as meat or vegetarian tagines served with steamed couscous.
Another great buffet catering option would be a beautiful poached and dressed salmon centrepiece with a variety of delicious salads, or we can design a menu based on whichever type of cuisine you would like. We have designed South African menus, Thai and Asian flavours or Japanese influenced buffet options, as well as many others, catering for a wide range of tastes.
Make the buffet table an inviting party centrepiece
One of the keys to a successful buffet is to make the table look as inviting as possible. In addition to the catering, we will design a buffet table setting to look as appetising as the food, so that your guests will be keen to tuck in. We can also recommend wines to work well with the buffet menu to complement and enhance the food you have chosen.
At Platter & Slate, we believe that food should be at the heart of a memorable event. A tempting array of buffet food can form a delicious centrepiece for your informal party.
