At Platter & Slate, we love canapés. One of our particular specialities is our hand-crafted, unique, seasonal and delicious range of canapés.

We can create a menu to suit your occasion, whether it is a few canapés before a meal or event, or to stretch across a full evening’s drinks reception. For longer events, we can design a canapé ‘flight’ menu, taking your guests on a balanced journey from light ‘starter’ canapés, through to slightly more substantial savouries and finishing with delicious sweet mini bites. Fresh, seasonal and sustainable canapés

As with all our party food, wherever possible we use seasonal ingredients for our canapés. All our meat is free range and we use sustainable fish, which we source directly from Billingsgate market (where we have our kitchen) so it is the freshest you can get. It's this care and attention to sourcing our ingredients that make all the difference in flavour.

Canapés - the perfect drinks accompaniment

At their best, canapés add elegance to a drinks reception. An ideal canapé will be a beautifully presented, small and tasty morsel that guests can eat with one hand, whilst still holding their glass in the other. Canapés can enhance the flavour of the wine or champagne and vice versa, and we can help you choose the best drinks to accompany your canapé menu.

Catering staff and chefs onsite to ensure a smooth event

Our chefs assemble all our canapés at your event, so they are as fresh as possible. We can provide waiting staff to serve the food and also to keep your guests’ glasses topped up, to ensure your event runs smoothly.

At Platter & Slate, we believe that food should be at the heart of a memorable event. Great canapés can form a stunning part of your drinks reception, celebration or evening gala.

  • Slow roasted pork belly on an apple crisp, with apple sauce and crackling crumb

  • Chicken liver parfait with sauterne jelly on brioche toast

  • Harissa lamb bonbons with dehydrated chilli 

  • Thai seared sirloin with Asian salad

  • Quails egg mini scotch egg halves with black pudding

  • Lobster, pea purée and crispy pancetta

  • Pan fried scallop on samphire with lemon hollandaise and espellette pepper

  • Salmon tartare cones with vodka cream and micro herbs

  • Sesame seared yellow-fin tuna loin with shisho cress, pickled ginger and wasabi

  • Smoked salmon blinis with dill crème fraîche and caviar

  • Pan fried polenta topped with spicy tomato fondant, oven roasted tomato and dehydrated leek

  • Mushroom and truffle tartlets with poached quail’s egg and truffle hollandaise

  • Curried butternut, goats cheese, crispy leek and butternut shard, in crispy shells

  • Baby asparagus spears with lemon ricotta and basil on seeded crackers
